To attach the Fujifilm EF-20 Flash, slide the flash unit's hot shoe into the camera's hot shoe mount until it clicks securely into place. Ensure the camera and flash are both turned off during this process.
The Fujifilm EF-20 Flash is compatible with two AA alkaline, lithium, or NiMH rechargeable batteries. Ensure that the batteries are inserted correctly according to the polarity markings.
To adjust the flash intensity, use the exposure compensation dial on the back of the EF-20. It allows you to increase or decrease the flash output to suit your lighting needs.
If the flash is not firing, check if the batteries are correctly installed and charged. Ensure the flash is securely attached to the camera and the power switch is turned on. Also, verify that the camera settings allow for external flash usage.
To perform a test flash, press the pilot button located on the back of the EF-20. The flash should fire if it is functioning correctly.
The EF-20 Flash has a recycling time of approximately 4 seconds with alkaline batteries. This time may vary depending on the type and condition of the batteries used.
To use the EF-20 in bounce mode, tilt the flash head upwards. This allows the light to bounce off the ceiling, providing softer illumination. The flash head can be tilted up to 90 degrees.
The EF-20 Flash is designed specifically for Fujifilm cameras with a compatible hot shoe. It may not function correctly with cameras from other brands due to differing hot shoe configurations and communication protocols.
If the EF-20 Flash overheats, turn it off and allow it to cool down before further use. Avoid rapid firing of the flash in quick succession to prevent overheating.
To clean the EF-20 Flash, use a soft, dry cloth to gently wipe the exterior. Avoid using any solvents or abrasive materials. Ensure the flash is turned off and batteries are removed before cleaning.
