Press and hold the power button for two seconds until the display turns on.
Ensure the batteries are properly installed and have sufficient charge. Replace them if necessary.
Press the mode button until the desired temperature unit is displayed on the screen.
Use a soft, damp cloth with mild soap to gently wipe the surface. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or submerging the device in water.

Check the sensor for any obstructions or dirt, and ensure the thermometer is used within its specified range.
