To measure RPM, aim the tachometer at the rotating object and ensure a reflective tape is placed on the object. Press and hold the measurement button to display the RPM on the screen.
Regularly clean the lens with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals. Store the device in a cool, dry place when not in use.
First, check the battery compartment to ensure the batteries are correctly installed and have sufficient charge. Replace the batteries if necessary.
Ensure the reflective tape is properly affixed to the rotating object and the tachometer is held steady during measurement. Check for any obstructions in the line of sight.
Yes, the RPM33 can measure both contact and non-contact RPM. For non-contact, use the laser and reflective tape, and for contact, use the provided contact adapter.
The Flir Extech RPM33 Tachometer can measure RPM up to 99,999 in non-contact mode and up to 20,000 in contact mode.
Battery life depends on usage frequency, but it is recommended to replace the batteries once the low battery indicator appears on the display.
Operate the RPM33 in temperatures between 0°C to 50°C (32°F to 122°F) and avoid high humidity environments exceeding 80% RH.
To switch modes, attach the contact adapter for contact measurements and remove it for non-contact measurements. Ensure the mode is correctly set on the device.
Calibration is recommended periodically to ensure accuracy. It should be performed by a qualified technician using a calibration standard.
