To turn on the Flir Extech MO50 Meter, press and hold the power button located on the front panel until the display lights up.
To measure moisture, insert the meter’s pins into the material being tested. Ensure good contact and read the moisture percentage on the display.
The Flir Extech MO50 Meter is factory calibrated. Regular calibration is not required, but periodic testing against a known moisture standard can ensure accuracy.
Check the battery compartment to ensure the batteries are installed correctly and have sufficient charge. Replace them if necessary.
Keep the meter clean and dry. Store it in a protective case when not in use and replace the batteries if they are low to prevent leakage.
The meter can test wood, drywall, and other building materials for moisture content. Avoid using it on conductive or metallic surfaces.
Moisture readings are displayed as a percentage. Lower percentages indicate dryer material, while higher percentages indicate more moisture.
The meter measures moisture levels, which can indicate conditions conducive to mold growth, but it does not detect mold directly.
Ensure the meter pins are clean and in good condition. Test the meter on a known material to verify accuracy. If problems persist, consult the user manual or contact support.
Turn off the meter when not in use and remove the batteries if it will be stored for an extended period. Using high-quality alkaline batteries can also extend battery life.
