To measure AC current, turn the rotary dial to the 'A~' position. Open the clamp jaws by pressing the lever, enclose the conductor, and ensure the jaws are fully closed. The current reading will be displayed on the screen.
Set the rotary dial to the 'V⎓' position. Connect the black test lead to the COM terminal and the red test lead to the V terminal. Touch the probes to the circuit and read the voltage on the display.
Switch the dial to the continuity setting (indicated by a diode symbol). Connect the test leads to the circuit. A continuous tone indicates continuity.
Check the battery compartment to ensure the batteries are correctly installed and have sufficient charge. Replace the batteries if necessary.
Turn the dial to the resistance measurement setting (Ω). Insert the black lead into the COM terminal and the red lead into the VΩ terminal. Place the probes across the component and read the resistance value on the display.
Ensure that the test leads are firmly connected and that the contact points are clean and secure. Also, check for any electromagnetic interference in the environment.
It is recommended to calibrate the MA620 annually or whenever the device shows signs of measurement inaccuracies.
Yes, the MA620 can measure frequency. Set the dial to the Hz setting, connect the test leads to the circuit, and the frequency will be displayed on the screen.
Press the 'HOLD' button while taking a measurement to freeze the current reading on the display. Press the button again to release the hold.
Regularly inspect the device for damage, clean the exterior with a damp cloth, and ensure the battery contacts are clean and corrosion-free. Store the meter in a dry, dust-free environment.
