To measure AC voltage, turn the dial to the V~ position, connect the test leads to the circuit, and read the measurement on the display. Ensure the multimeter is set to the correct voltage range if not in auto-range mode.
Check the battery compartment for proper battery installation and ensure the batteries are charged. Replace the batteries if necessary and ensure the contacts are clean.
Turn the dial to the continuity test mode, often indicated by a sound wave symbol. Connect the test leads to the circuit, and listen for a beep indicating continuity.
