Dürkopp Adler 805 Programming Instructions

To thread the Dürkopp Adler 805, first raise the presser foot to release the tension discs. Follow the threading path indicated on the machine, starting from the spool pin through the upper thread guide, down and around the tension discs, up through the take-up lever, and finally down to the needle. Ensure the thread passes through each guide to prevent tension issues.
If the machine is skipping stitches, check the needle first. Ensure it is the correct type and size for the fabric and that it is not bent or dull. Re-thread the machine and bobbin, making sure the thread path is correct. Lastly, adjust the tension settings if necessary.
To adjust the thread tension, use the tension dial located on the front of the machine. Turn the dial clockwise to increase tension and counterclockwise to decrease it. Test on a scrap fabric and adjust until the stitches are balanced with no puckering or looping.
Regular maintenance includes cleaning lint and debris from the feed dogs, bobbin case, and surrounding areas. Oil the machine as specified in the manual, focusing on the hook race and other moving parts. Also, check for loose screws and ensure the machine is properly threaded.
First, check that the power cord is securely plugged into both the machine and the power outlet. Ensure the outlet is functioning by testing another device. Inspect the power switch and fuses, replacing them if necessary. If the machine still doesn't turn on, consult a technician.
To change the presser foot, raise the presser foot lever and ensure the needle is in the highest position. Press the release lever at the back of the presser foot holder and remove the foot. Attach the new foot by aligning it with the holder and lowering the presser foot lever until it clicks into place.
Unusual noises could indicate a need for cleaning or oiling. Turn off the machine and check for any thread or lint caught in the bobbin area or feed dogs. Oil the machine according to the manual's instructions. If noises persist, have the machine inspected by a professional.
To select and change stitches, use the stitch selection dial or touch panel, depending on the model variation. Refer to the stitch chart to choose your desired stitch pattern. Adjust the stitch length and width using the corresponding controls to customize your stitch.
Ensure the presser foot pressure is correctly set for your fabric thickness. Check the feed dogs to make sure they are raised. Clean any lint or debris from the feed dogs and surrounding area. If the problem persists, consider adjusting the stitch length or consulting the manual for further guidance.
Thread bunching, or "bird nesting," is often due to incorrect threading or tension. Re-thread the upper thread, ensuring it passes through all guides and the tension discs. Check the bobbin to ensure it is wound evenly and inserted correctly. Adjust the top tension if needed.
