The Denon AVR-987 does not have built-in Bluetooth capabilities. To connect a Bluetooth device, you will need to use an external Bluetooth adapter connected to one of the available audio inputs on the receiver.
To reset the Denon AVR-987 to factory settings, turn off the unit. Press and hold the "Speaker A" and "Speaker B" buttons simultaneously while turning the power back on. Continue holding the buttons until the display starts flashing. Release the buttons to complete the reset process.
First, check all speaker connections and ensure they are secure. Verify that the correct input source is selected and that any audio processing modes are set appropriately. If issues persist, try resetting the receiver to factory settings or consult the user manual for further diagnostics.
Ensure that the power cord is securely connected and that the outlet is functioning. Check the power switch on the rear panel. If the receiver still does not turn on, try a different power outlet or consult a professional technician for further assistance.
The Denon AVR-987 does not support firmware updates via the internet or USB. It is recommended to consult Denon's customer support for any available updates or service options.
Connect the subwoofer cable to the "Subwoofer Pre Out" jack on the back of the AVR-987. Ensure the subwoofer is powered on and set to the correct input mode. Adjust the subwoofer settings in the receiver's speaker configuration menu for optimal performance.
Regularly clean the exterior with a dry, soft cloth. Ensure that the vents are free of dust and obstructions. Periodically check all cable connections for tightness and inspect for any signs of wear or damage.
Use an HDMI cable to connect the HDMI OUT port on the AVR-987 to an HDMI input on your TV. Ensure that the TV is set to the correct HDMI input source. Alternatively, use component or composite cables if HDMI is not an option.
Check that the speakers are properly connected and the correct input source is selected. Ensure the mute function is not activated and the volume is turned up. Verify that the speaker selector is set to the correct position if using Speaker A/B options.
Access the setup menu and navigate to the audio settings. Adjust the speaker size, distance, and levels according to your room layout. Utilize the built-in equalizer or sound modes to enhance the audio experience for movies and TV shows.
