Ensure that large items do not block the spray arms, and place dishes facing downward. Make use of the upper rack for cups and smaller items, while heavier pots and pans should be placed in the lower rack.
Check for clogs in the drain hose or filter. Ensure the drain hose is not kinked and that the sink's drain is clear. Clean the filter located at the bottom of the dishwasher.
Remove the lower rack and locate the filter at the bottom of the dishwasher. Twist to unlock and remove it, then rinse under warm water to remove debris. Reinstall the filter by aligning and twisting it back into place.
Check the rinse aid level and refill if necessary. Hard water can cause spotting; using a detergent designed for hard water or adding a water softener can help reduce spots.
Remove the spray arms and rinse them under water, using a toothpick or small brush to clear any blockages in the holes. Reattach them securely after cleaning.
Press and hold the start button for a few seconds until the display resets. If this does not work, unplug the dishwasher for a few minutes and then plug it back in to reset the system.
Clean the filter, door seals, and spray arms regularly. Run an empty cycle with a dishwasher cleaner or a cup of white vinegar to eliminate odors.
Perform basic maintenance such as cleaning the filter and checking the spray arms monthly. Inspect seals and hoses every few months for any signs of wear.
Ensure the door is fully closed and latched. Check the power supply, including the circuit breaker and the plug connection. Make sure that the start button has been pressed properly.
Use a high-quality, automatic dishwasher detergent. Tablets or pods are often recommended for their convenience and effectiveness. Avoid using regular dish soap, as it can cause excessive suds.
