To descale the Breville VIN299, fill the water tank with equal parts white vinegar and water, set the iron to medium heat, and let it steam for 5-10 minutes. Then, rinse the tank with clean water.
Check if the power cord is securely plugged in and the power outlet is functional. Ensure the temperature dial is set correctly. If the issue persists, consult a technician.
To prevent leakage, do not overfill the water tank and ensure the iron is kept upright when not in use. Also, avoid using the steam function at low temperatures.
It is recommended to use distilled or demineralized water to prevent mineral buildup, although tap water can be used if it is not too hard.
To clean the soleplate, use a damp cloth with mild detergent. For stubborn stains, apply a paste of baking soda and water, then wipe clean. Avoid using abrasive materials.
Spitting can occur if the iron is not hot enough when the steam function is used. Allow the iron to reach the correct temperature before using steam.
Empty the water tank, allow the iron to cool completely, and store it upright in a dry place. Wrap the cord loosely around the base.
A slight noise from the steam function is normal as the water is converted to steam. Excessive noise may indicate a need for descaling.
Ensure the water tank is filled and the iron is set to a high enough temperature. If the problem continues, the steam vents may need cleaning.
Regular cleaning and descaling once a month is recommended to maintain optimal performance and longevity of the iron.
