Breville VIN267 Instruction Booklet

To descale the Breville VIN267, fill the water tank with a mixture of equal parts white vinegar and water. Turn the iron to its highest steam setting and let it steam for about 5 minutes. Empty the tank, refill with clean water, and steam again to rinse.
Ensure the iron is plugged in and the power switch is turned on. Check the temperature dial to make sure it's set to the desired setting. If the iron still doesn't heat, try plugging it into a different outlet to rule out a faulty power source.
To clean the soleplate, unplug the iron and let it cool completely. Use a damp cloth with mild detergent to gently wipe the surface. For stubborn stains, use a non-abrasive cleaner and a soft cloth. Avoid using metal objects or abrasive pads.
Water leakage can occur if the iron is not hot enough. Ensure the temperature is set correctly for steam ironing. Additionally, avoid overfilling the water tank and ensure the iron is in an upright position when not in use.
After use, unplug the iron and let it cool. Empty any remaining water from the tank. Wrap the cord loosely around the handle and store the iron in an upright position to prevent damage to the soleplate.
The anti-scale cartridge should be replaced every three months or when you notice a decrease in steam output, whichever comes first. Regular replacement helps maintain optimal performance and prolongs the life of the iron.
While tap water can be used, it is recommended to use distilled or demineralized water to prevent mineral buildup and prolong the life of the iron. If using tap water, ensure regular descaling.
To activate self-clean, fill the water tank, set the iron to its highest temperature, and let it heat up. Hold the iron over a sink and press the self-clean button. Allow the steam and water to flow through the steam vents, then release the button and wipe the soleplate.
Ensure the water tank is filled above the minimum level. Check that the steam control is turned on. If the problem persists, descale the iron to remove any mineral deposits blocking the steam vents.
To prevent scratches, avoid ironing over zippers, buttons, or other hard objects. Use the appropriate iron setting for different fabrics. Store the iron on its heel rest and avoid contact with rough surfaces.
