Before using your Beldray BEL01480 for the first time, ensure that the water tank is filled with clean water and securely attached. Check that the soleplate is clean and free of dust. Plug in the iron and set the temperature according to the fabric you are going to iron. Allow it to heat up before use.
If the iron is not producing steam, first check that the water tank is filled. Ensure that the steam control is set to the desired level and the iron is heated to an appropriate temperature for steam generation. If the issue persists, try cleaning the steam vents as they may be clogged.
To clean the soleplate, ensure the iron is unplugged and cooled down. Use a damp cloth to wipe the soleplate surface. For stubborn stains, a mixture of baking soda and water can be used. Avoid using abrasive materials that might scratch the surface.
To descale the iron, fill the water tank with a mixture of equal parts water and white vinegar. Allow the iron to heat up and use the steam function until the mixture is depleted. Refill with clean water and repeat to rinse out any remaining vinegar.
To prevent water leakage, avoid overfilling the water tank and ensure the tank is securely attached. Do not use the steam function at low temperatures. Always store the iron in an upright position when not in use.
If the iron is not heating up, check that it is properly plugged in and the power outlet is functioning. Verify that the temperature dial is set above the minimum setting. If it still does not heat up, there may be an internal issue that requires professional servicing.
While you can use tap water, it is recommended to use distilled or demineralized water to prevent mineral buildup and prolong the lifespan of your iron. If using tap water, make sure to regularly descale the iron.
After using the iron, empty the water tank and allow the iron to cool completely. Store it upright in a dry place to prevent damage to the soleplate and avoid wrapping the cord too tightly around the iron.
The Duo Glide function is suitable for a variety of fabrics, including cotton, linen, and synthetic blends. Always check the garment label for ironing instructions and adjust the temperature accordingly.
Regular maintenance should be performed monthly, or more frequently if you use the iron often. This includes cleaning the soleplate, descaling the iron, and checking for any signs of wear or damage.
