To change the master code, open the safe using the existing master code. Press the reset button located inside the door near the hinge. Enter the new master code followed by the 'B' button.
First, ensure the batteries are not depleted by replacing them. If the problem persists, check for any loose connections in the battery compartment and ensure the keypad is clean and free from dust.
If you forget the code, use the override key provided with your safe. Insert the key into the lock behind the logo plate and turn it to open the safe.
Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth and dry it immediately. Avoid using any harsh chemicals or abrasive materials. Regularly check the seal and hinges for dust and lubricate them if necessary.
Use the pre-drilled holes at the bottom or back of the safe to secure it. Utilize bolts appropriate for your floor or wall type, ensuring they are securely fastened for optimal safety.
The safe uses 4 AA batteries. It is advisable to replace them annually or when the low battery indicator is displayed. Always use high-quality alkaline batteries for best performance.
While the safe is durable, it is recommended to use a dehumidifier inside the safe to prevent moisture buildup and protect the contents from humidity damage.
Check for any obstructions or debris around the door and seal. Ensure the locking bolts are correctly aligned. If the issue persists, contact Barska customer service for further assistance.
Test the security features by attempting to open the safe with an incorrect code multiple times to trigger the lockout penalty. Verify that the safe does not open and the alarm activates, if equipped.
The Barska AX12616 safe is not certified as fireproof or waterproof. For protection against fire or water damage, it is advisable to store items in additional protective containers within the safe.
