To change the oil, first warm up the engine, then turn it off and disconnect the spark plug wire. Locate the oil drain plug under the engine, place a pan underneath, remove the plug, and let the oil drain completely. Replace the drain plug, add new oil through the oil fill cap, and reconnect the spark plug wire.
Check the battery connections for corrosion and ensure they are tight. Verify that the fuel tank has fresh fuel and the fuel valve is open. Inspect the spark plug for wear or damage, and replace if necessary. Also, check the fuse and replace if blown.
The air filter should be inspected every 25 hours of operation and replaced if it appears dirty or damaged. Under normal conditions, replacing it once per season or every 100 hours is recommended.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment lever on the side of the tractor. Move the lever to the desired cutting position, ensuring that the deck is level for an even cut.
Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol content as it may damage the engine.
Check the tire pressure to ensure all tires are equally inflated. Inspect the mower deck for debris or damage, and make sure the blades are sharp and properly aligned. Adjust the deck level if needed.
Regularly check the battery terminals for corrosion and clean them with a wire brush. Ensure the battery is securely mounted and that the fluid levels are adequate. Charge the battery as needed and store it in a cool, dry place during the off-season.
To replace the mower blades, first disconnect the spark plug wire. Lift the mower deck to its highest position, then use a wrench to remove the blade bolt. Install the new blade, ensuring it is oriented correctly, and tighten the bolt securely. Reconnect the spark plug wire once finished.
Excessive vibration can be caused by unbalanced blades, so check for damage or wear. Tighten any loose bolts and inspect the engine mounts. If the problem persists, consult with a service professional.
Ensure you maintain a slower speed when operating on slopes and avoid sudden turns. Check tire pressure and consider using rear wheel weights or tire chains for better traction. Always mow up and down slopes, never across.
