Ensure the tractor is on a flat surface, engage the parking brake, and make sure the PTO switch is off. Insert the key and turn it to the start position until the engine fires up.
Use SAE 30 oil for general use; during cold conditions, 5W-30 may be more suitable. Always check the owner's manual for specific recommendations.
Check for fuel supply, ensure the battery is charged, inspect the spark plug, and confirm the PTO switch is off and the brake is engaged.
Regularly clean the mower deck to prevent grass buildup, check and sharpen blades as needed, and ensure the deck is correctly aligned.
The air filter should be inspected every 25 hours of operation and replaced if it appears dirty or damaged.
Check for loose or damaged blades, ensure that all bolts and screws are tight, and inspect the belts for wear and alignment.
Use the height adjustment lever located near the operator's seat to set the desired cutting height. Make sure the tractor is turned off before making adjustments.
Check the sidewall of the tires for the manufacturer's recommended PSI, usually around 10-14 PSI for rear tires and 12-15 PSI for front tires.
Inspect the battery terminals for corrosion, ensure that the battery is properly connected, and test the alternator to ensure it is charging the battery.
Clean the tractor thoroughly, add a fuel stabilizer to the tank, disconnect the battery, and store it in a dry, covered area.
