To start the Ariens 936 Series 936095 Tractor, ensure the parking brake is engaged, throttle is set to 'fast', and PTO is off. Insert the key and turn it to the 'start' position. Release the key once the engine starts.
To change the oil, first warm up the engine and then turn it off. Place an oil pan under the drain plug, remove the plug, and let the oil drain. Replace the drain plug, remove the oil filter, install a new filter, and fill with recommended oil. Check the level with the dipstick.
If the tractor won't start, check the battery connections, ensure fuel is in the tank, and the spark plug is functioning. Verify the PTO is disengaged and the parking brake is set. Inspect the fuse and ignition switch for faults.
Maintenance for the cutting deck includes regular cleaning to remove grass clippings, checking the blade for sharpness, inspecting belts for wear, and lubricating the spindles and pulleys as needed.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment lever on the tractor. Move the lever to select the desired cutting height position, ensuring it locks into place. Always adjust with the engine off for safety.
Excessive vibration can be caused by unbalanced blades, damaged spindles, or loose components. Check the blades for damage, ensure they are properly balanced, and tighten any loose parts on the deck and chassis.
Blades should be sharpened after approximately every 25 hours of use, or more frequently if you notice uneven cutting or tearing of the grass. Always balance the blades after sharpening.
To winterize the tractor, clean the exterior, change the oil, add fuel stabilizer to the gas tank, and run the engine briefly. Disconnect the battery and store it in a cool, dry place. Cover the tractor to protect it from dust and moisture.
To replace the drive belt, first disconnect the spark plug wire for safety. Remove the deck belt and then the drive belt guards. Slide the belt off the pulleys, replace it with a new belt, and reassemble the guards and deck belt. Ensure proper tension and alignment.
Uneven cutting can be caused by dull or damaged blades, incorrect tire pressure, or an improperly leveled deck. Check and sharpen the blades, ensure tires are inflated evenly, and adjust the deck level according to the manual.
