Ensure the tractor is on a flat surface, the brake is engaged, and the PTO is disengaged. Insert the key into the ignition and turn to the start position until the engine turns over.
Check the fuel level, ensure the battery is charged, and inspect the spark plug. If the problem persists, consult the user manual or contact a qualified technician.
Place the tractor on a level surface. Remove the oil drain plug and allow the old oil to drain completely. Replace the drain plug, and refill with the recommended oil type and quantity.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of at least 87. Avoid using fuels with more than 10% ethanol content.
Check the tire pressure to ensure it is even on all tires. Inspect the mower deck for debris or damage, and make sure the blades are sharp and balanced.
Regularly check and change the oil, inspect the air filter, check tire pressure, clean the mower deck, and sharpen the blades. Refer to the manual for a detailed maintenance schedule.
Locate the cutting height adjustment lever, usually found on the side of the mower deck. Move the lever to the desired height setting.
Check the PTO switch is engaged and inspect the drive belt for damage or dislodgment. If necessary, consult the manual for troubleshooting steps.
Clean the tractor thoroughly, change the oil, and add a fuel stabilizer to the tank. Store in a dry, sheltered area, and disconnect the battery if storing for an extended period.
Inspect the blades for balance and sharpness. Check the engine mounts and ensure all bolts are tightened. Also, examine the belts for wear or damage.
