Ensure the tractor is on a level surface. Check that the brake is engaged. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the 'Start' position while pressing the brake pedal. Release the key once the engine starts.
Check the battery connections for corrosion or looseness. Ensure the fuel tank is filled and the fuel valve is open. Inspect the spark plug for wear or damage and replace if necessary.
Park the tractor on a level surface. Remove the oil fill cap and drain plug, allowing the oil to fully drain into a container. Replace the drain plug and refill with the recommended oil type and quantity.
Use clean, fresh unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol content to prevent engine damage.
Inspect the air filter every 25 hours of operation and replace it every 100 hours or annually, whichever comes first. Replace sooner if operating in dusty conditions.
Check for debris or buildup on the blades or beneath the deck. Inspect the blades for damage or imbalance. Ensure all bolts and connections are tight.
Locate the cutting height adjustment lever on the tractor. Move the lever to the desired height setting, ensuring that the deck is level from side to side.
Check the transmission fluid level and top up if necessary. Inspect the drive belt for wear or damage and replace if needed. Consult the manual for further troubleshooting steps.
Clean the tractor thoroughly and remove any debris. Add a fuel stabilizer to the gasoline tank and run the engine for a few minutes. Disconnect the battery and store it in a cool, dry place.
Perform a general inspection before each use. Change the engine oil every 50 hours. Replace the air filter and spark plug annually or every 100 hours. Lubricate moving parts as needed.
