Ensure the air inlet is open, place kindling and a firelighter in the stove, light it, and gradually add larger logs once the kindling is burning well.
Use a damp cloth with a stove glass cleaner. For stubborn stains, use a scraper specifically designed for stove glass.
It is recommended to sweep the chimney at least twice a year, ideally before the heating season and after it ends.
Use well-seasoned hardwoods such as oak, ash, or beech, as they burn more efficiently and produce less smoke.
This could be due to a blocked chimney, insufficient ventilation, or wet wood. Check for blockages, ensure the room is ventilated, and use dry wood.
Ensure regular maintenance, use seasoned wood, keep the stove clean, and operate it at the optimal temperature.
Regularly clean the stove, check the seals and gaskets, inspect the chimney, and remove any ash build-up.
Start with the air controls fully open when lighting, then adjust to maintain a steady burn once the fire is established.
Allow the stove to cool completely, lightly sand the area, and apply stove paint following the manufacturer's instructions.
Consult the manufacturer's guidelines, but generally, the stove is designed for wood. If coal is permitted, ensure it's smokeless coal.
