To start a fire, ensure the air vents are fully open. Place kindling and firelighters on the grate, then light them. Once the kindling is burning well, add small logs, gradually increasing in size as the fire establishes.
The stove is designed to burn seasoned hardwood logs or approved smokeless fuels. Avoid using wet or unseasoned wood as it can cause excessive smoke and tar buildup.
The stove should be cleaned regularly to maintain efficiency. Empty the ash pan before each use and clean the stove surface weekly. The chimney should be swept at least twice a year, preferably before and after the heating season.
Ensure the air vents are open and the chimney is not blocked. Check for any obstructions in the flue and ensure the room has adequate ventilation. A chimney sweep may be required if problems persist.
Ensure the airwash system is functioning by keeping the air controls open when lighting the fire. Burn only dry, seasoned wood and avoid slumbering the fire for long periods. Regularly clean the glass with a recommended stove glass cleaner.
It is not recommended to leave the stove unattended while it is burning. Always ensure that the fire is stable and burning at a safe level before leaving the room.
To maintain the stove's finish, dust regularly with a dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or scouring pads. If necessary, use a stove polish recommended by the manufacturer to restore the surface.
Ensure the air vents are open and the stove is loaded with sufficient fuel. Check that the fuel is dry and seasoned. Also, verify that the chimney is not blocked and the room is adequately insulated.
Allow the ashes to cool completely before disposal. Use a metal container to collect the ashes and store them away from combustible materials until they are completely cold and can be disposed of safely.
Ensure installation is carried out by a certified professional, adhering to local building regulations. Maintain proper clearance from combustible materials and ensure adequate ventilation. A carbon monoxide detector should be installed nearby for safety.
