To reset the oil life indicator, turn on the ignition without starting the engine. Use the steering wheel controls to navigate to the "Vehicle Settings" menu, select "Maintenance Info," and choose "Reset Oil Life." Confirm the reset when prompted.
The 2018 Acura TLX is recommended to use SAE 0W-20 full synthetic motor oil for optimal performance and efficiency.
If you're experiencing Bluetooth issues, ensure your phone's Bluetooth is on and delete any previously saved pairings. Re-pair the device, ensure software updates are current for both the car and phone, and reset the infotainment system if necessary.
To jump-start your TLX, connect the positive cable to the positive terminal of the dead battery and the donor battery. Connect the negative cable to the donor battery's negative terminal and the other end to an unpainted metal surface on the TLX. Start the donor vehicle, then the TLX.
Open the glove box and remove the damper arm on the side. Press the sides of the glove box inward to release it. Locate the cabin air filter cover behind the glove box, remove it, and replace the old filter with a new one. Reassemble in reverse order.
If the key fob battery is dead, use the physical key inside the fob to unlock the car door. To start the car, hold the key fob near the start button and press it. Replace the battery as soon as possible by opening the fob and inserting a new CR2032 battery.
Park the vehicle on a level surface facing a wall about 25 feet away. Open the hood and locate the headlight adjustment screws on the back of the headlight assembly. Use these screws to adjust the vertical and horizontal aim of the headlights as needed.
A ticking noise in the engine could be due to low oil levels, using the wrong type of oil, or normal fuel injector operation. Check the oil level and type first. If the noise persists, consult a professional mechanic for further diagnosis.
To improve fuel efficiency, ensure regular maintenance, keep tires properly inflated, drive at steady speeds, avoid idling, and use cruise control on highways. Removing unnecessary weight and using recommended fuel can also help.
The recommended maintenance schedule includes oil and filter changes every 7,500 miles, tire rotations every 7,500 miles, brake inspections every 15,000 miles, and transmission fluid changes every 30,000 miles. Refer to the owner's manual for a detailed schedule.
