Ensure the tractor is on a flat surface, sit on the seat, engage the parking brake, and turn the ignition key to start the engine. Make sure the throttle is set to the choke position if the engine is cold.
Check the battery connections for corrosion, ensure the fuel tank is not empty, and verify that the spark plug is functioning. Additionally, make sure the PTO switch is off and the brake is engaged.
The oil should be changed every 50 hours of operation or at the start of each mowing season, whichever comes first. Use the recommended oil type specified in the user manual.
The correct tire pressure is typically 14 psi for the front tires and 10 psi for the rear tires. Always refer to the user manual for specific recommendations.
Use the lever located on the right side of the operator's seat to adjust the cutting height. There are usually multiple settings available to choose the desired grass height.
Uneven cutting can be caused by dull blades, improper tire pressure, or an uneven deck. Ensure blades are sharp, tires are inflated to the recommended pressure, and the deck is level.
Turn off the tractor, disconnect the spark plug, and use a garden hose to remove grass clippings and debris. Be sure to dry the deck to prevent rust.
Clean the tractor thoroughly, change the oil, sharpen the blades, and add a fuel stabilizer to the tank. Store the tractor in a dry, sheltered area to protect it from the elements.
Check for loose bolts, worn blades, or unbalanced wheels. Also, inspect the belts for wear and replace them if necessary. Make sure the engine is securely mounted.
Inspect the air filter every 25 hours of operation. Clean it by tapping it gently to remove dirt and debris. Replace it if it is excessively dirty or damaged.
