To start, shuffle the deck and deal seven cards to each player. Place the remaining deck face down to form a draw pile. Turn over the top card to start the discard pile. The player to the left of the dealer begins the game.
The objective is to be the first player to score 500 points. Points are scored by being the first to play all your cards and based on the cards left in your opponents' hands.
If a "Skip" card is played, the next player in line loses their turn. The game then continues with the following player.
If you suspect cheating, calmly discuss it with the player in question. Ensure everyone is clear on the rules. If the issue persists, a group consensus can decide on any penalties.
Officially, stacking Draw cards is not allowed. If a Draw Two or Wild Draw Four is played against you, you must draw the required number of cards and forfeit your turn.
To maintain your cards, store them in a cool, dry place. Avoid bending or scratching the cards. Consider using card sleeves to protect them from wear and tear.
If the draw pile runs out, shuffle the discard pile to create a new draw pile and continue playing.
Disputes can be resolved by referring to the official rulebook included with the game. If the rulebook is unavailable, players can agree on a house rule before continuing.
A Wild card allows the player to change the current color being played. It can be played at any time, even if the player has cards matching the current color or number.
Players can use a pen and paper to keep track of scores after each round. Points are awarded based on the cards remaining in opponents' hands when a player goes out.
