To start the Toro 38-inch 59147 Mower, ensure that the mower is on a flat surface. Engage the parking brake, set the throttle to the 'fast' position, and turn the key to the 'start' position. Release the key once the engine starts.
Check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is connected properly, and inspect the air filter for clogs. Additionally, confirm that the battery is charged and that the mower is not in gear.
The oil in your Toro 38-inch 59147 Mower should be changed after the first five hours of use and then every 50 hours of operation or at the start of each mowing season.
Toro recommends using SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F (0°C) and 10W-30 for temperatures below 32°F (0°C) for the 38-inch 59147 Mower.
First, disconnect the spark plug and remove the mower deck. Use a wrench to remove the blade bolts and replace the blades. Ensure the new blades are installed with the cutting edge facing the correct direction.
Regularly sharpen the blades, clean the underside of the deck to prevent grass buildup, and ensure the tire pressure is correct for an even cut.
Excessive vibration could be due to unbalanced or damaged blades. Check for wear or damage on the blades and replace if necessary. Also, ensure that all bolts and fasteners are tight.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment levers on each wheel. Move the levers to the desired position to raise or lower the deck. Ensure all four wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
Clean the mower thoroughly, change the oil, remove the battery, and add a fuel stabilizer to the tank. Store the mower in a dry, protected area to prevent rust and other damage.
Check for even tire pressure, ensure that the blades are sharp and properly installed, and verify that the deck is level. Adjust the deck height settings if necessary to achieve an even cut.
