To install the Thule 668TT, start by positioning the box on the roof rack of your vehicle. Align it centrally to ensure even weight distribution. Use the included mounting hardware, threading the U-bolts through the pre-drilled holes in the box and securing them with the brackets and knobs inside. Ensure all connections are tight and the box is securely fastened before travel.
If the lock on your Thule 668TT isn't functioning, first ensure that the key is not damaged and is the correct one for the lock. Check that the lock mechanism is free from obstructions and lubricate with graphite powder if necessary. If the issue persists, contact Thule customer support for assistance or consider replacing the lock.
To clean the Thule 668TT, use a mild soap and water solution to wash the exterior. Avoid abrasive cleaners. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft cloth. Regularly check for any signs of wear or damage, particularly around the mounting points and locks, and address any issues promptly.
The Thule 668TT has a maximum weight capacity of 110 lbs (50 kg). Ensure that the combined weight of the box and its contents does not exceed this limit and also verify your vehicle's roof load capacity.
While the Thule 668TT is designed to be weather-resistant, it is advisable to avoid using it in severe weather conditions such as heavy snowstorms or high winds, as these can affect driving safety and the integrity of the box. Always check weather conditions before travel.
To maximize aerodynamics, position the Thule 668TT centrally on the roof rack with the tapered end facing the rear of the vehicle. Ensure that it is positioned symmetrically with respect to the roof and tightly secured to minimize wind resistance.
If you lose the keys to your Thule 668TT, record the lock number found on the lock cylinder. Contact Thule customer service or a Thule dealer with this number to obtain a replacement key.
Ensure that the Thule 668TT is securely locked whenever it is unattended. Consider using additional security measures such as cable locks. Park in well-lit and secure areas whenever possible to deter theft.
When not in use, store the Thule 668TT in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight to prevent UV damage. If possible, use a wall mount or ceiling hoist to keep it off the ground and maintain its shape.
If the Thule 668TT develops a crack or hole, assess the extent of the damage. Small cracks can often be repaired with a plastic repair kit. For significant damage, contact Thule for advice or consider replacing the unit to ensure safety and functionality.
