To convert the Thule Chariot CX 1 from a stroller to a bike trailer, first remove the front wheels by pressing the release buttons. Then, attach the bicycle arm to the VersaWing bracket and secure it with the safety pin. Finally, attach the trailer to your bike using the hitch arm.
Regularly check the tire pressure and inflate them to the recommended PSI indicated on the side of the tire. Inspect the wheels for any damage or wear, and clean them using a damp cloth to remove dirt or debris. Lubricate the wheel bearings annually for smooth operation.
To adjust the suspension system, locate the suspension knob on the rear wheels. Turn the knob clockwise to increase suspension stiffness for heavier loads or rough terrain, and counterclockwise to decrease stiffness for lighter loads or smoother surfaces.
Check if there are any obstructions or debris in the canopy track. Clean the track and ensure the fabric is properly aligned. If issues persist, inspect for any damage to the frame or fabric and contact Thule support if necessary.
Remove the fabric from the frame and wash it with mild soap and water. Avoid using harsh chemicals or machine washing, as this may damage the fabric. Allow it to air dry completely before reattaching it to the frame.
Store the Thule Chariot CX 1 in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Fold it down to save space and ensure all parts are dry to prevent mold or rust. Cover it with a protective cover to keep it clean and dust-free.
If the brakes are not engaging properly, check for obstructions in the brake mechanism. Ensure the brake cable is not damaged or loose. Adjust the tension of the brake cable if necessary, and test the brakes to ensure they engage smoothly.
The Thule Chariot CX 1 has a maximum weight capacity of 75 pounds (34 kg), including the child and any cargo. Exceeding this limit may affect the performance and safety of the trailer.
Use reflectors and lights to enhance visibility. Attach a safety flag to increase the trailer's visibility to motorists. Ensure that your child is securely strapped in, and follow all local regulations regarding night-time cycling.
Inspect the frame for loose bolts or connections and tighten them if necessary. Lubricate any moving parts, such as the folding mechanism, to reduce noise. If the issue persists, consult the user manual or contact Thule support for further assistance.
