To pair your phone, turn on your Forester and navigate to the Bluetooth settings on the vehicle's infotainment system. Enable Bluetooth on your phone, search for new devices, and select "Subaru BT." Follow the prompts to complete pairing.
Regular maintenance should be performed every 6,000 miles or 6 months, whichever comes first. This includes oil changes, tire rotations, and inspections of the brakes, battery, and other essential systems.
After ensuring all tires are properly inflated, drive the vehicle at speeds above 20 mph for at least 20 minutes. The system will automatically recalibrate and reset.
First, ensure the windshield is clean and clear of obstructions. Restart the vehicle and check for any warning lights. If issues persist, consult a Subaru dealer for a diagnostic check.
Maintain proper tire pressure, use the recommended grade of motor oil, avoid excessive idling, and drive at moderate speeds. Regular maintenance checks can also help improve efficiency.
Open the glove box and remove any contents. Detach the glove box by removing the support arm and allowing it to hang downward. The cabin air filter is located behind a cover, which can be removed by pressing the tabs on either side. Replace the filter and reassemble.
To replace a headlight bulb, open the hood and locate the headlight assembly. Disconnect the power connector from the bulb, twist the bulb counterclockwise, and remove it. Insert the new bulb, twist it clockwise to secure, and reconnect the power connector.
The Auto Start-Stop feature can be toggled using the button located on the center console, typically labeled with an "A" surrounded by a circular arrow. Press this button to enable or disable the feature as needed.
If the engine overheats, pull over safely and turn off the engine. Wait for the engine to cool before checking the coolant level. Add coolant if necessary and inspect for leaks. If the problem persists, contact a mechanic.
To check the oil level, park the vehicle on a level surface and turn off the engine. Wait a few minutes, then remove the dipstick, wipe it clean, reinsert it fully, and remove it again. Check the oil level against the markers on the dipstick.
