Singer 9910 Instruction Manual

To thread the Singer 9910, raise the presser foot and turn the handwheel to raise the needle. Place a spool of thread on the spool pin. Follow the threading path indicated on the machine, guiding the thread through each thread guide and the tension dial. Thread the needle from front to back.
Ensure that the needle is inserted correctly and is not bent. Check that the bobbin is correctly placed in the bobbin case and that the machine is properly threaded. Also, verify that the bobbin tension is correctly adjusted.
To adjust the tension, locate the tension dial on the front of the machine. For tighter tension, increase the number on the dial. For looser tension, decrease the number. Test the stitch on a scrap of fabric to ensure the desired tension is achieved.
First, turn off the machine and unplug it. Remove the fabric and check for tangled threads in the bobbin area. Remove any jammed threads and re-thread the machine. Also, ensure that you're using the correct needle and thread for the fabric.
Regular maintenance includes cleaning lint and threads from the bobbin area and feed dogs. Use a small brush to remove debris. Occasionally, oil the machine as per the manual's guidance, and have it professionally serviced annually.
The Singer 9910 can sew a wide range of fabrics, including cotton, polyester, knits, and denim. For heavier fabrics, ensure you use the appropriate needle and adjust the machine's settings accordingly.
Turn off the sewing machine and unplug it. Loosen the needle clamp screw and remove the old needle. Insert a new needle with the flat side facing the back, push it up as far as it will go, and tighten the needle clamp screw.
Poor stitch quality can be due to incorrect tension settings, a dull or bent needle, or improper threading. Re-thread the machine, check the tension, and replace the needle if necessary.
Uneven stitches can result from incorrect tension, improper threading, or using the wrong needle or thread for the fabric. Verify all settings and re-thread the machine, ensuring the needle is appropriate for the fabric.
Stop sewing immediately and turn off the machine. Check for tangled threads or debris in the bobbin area and clean it. Ensure all parts are properly tightened and that the machine is correctly threaded. Restart the machine and test on scrap fabric.
