To thread the Singer 7469, raise the presser foot lifter, turn the handwheel to raise the needle, place the spool on the spool pin, and follow the threading path indicated on the machine.
Check the needle to ensure it is not bent or dull, re-thread the machine, and ensure the fabric is properly positioned. Also, verify that you are using the correct needle size and type for your fabric.
Regularly clean the bobbin area by removing lint and dust with a small brush. Oil the machine as per the manual instructions, and use a soft cloth to wipe down other parts.
A loud noise may indicate the need for cleaning or oiling. Check for any tangled threads or debris in the bobbin area, and ensure all parts are properly aligned.
Adjust the tension by turning the tension dial located on the front of the machine. Higher numbers increase tension, while lower numbers decrease it. Test stitch on scrap fabric to achieve desired results.
For quilting, use a quilting needle or a universal needle size 90/14 to ensure smooth stitching through layers of fabric.
First, ensure that the bobbin is wound evenly and inserted correctly. Adjust the bobbin case tension by turning the small screw on the side of the bobbin case.
Ensure the needle is the correct size and type for the fabric. Check the feed dogs to make sure they are raised and functioning properly.
Lower the presser foot and raise the needle. Pull down the needle threader lever and guide the thread through the guide and hook, then release the lever to thread the needle automatically.
Ensure the machine is plugged in and the power switch is on. Check that the foot pedal is connected and functioning. If the machine still won't start, consult the manual or contact customer support.
