To change the oil, first warm up the engine. Turn off the engine, remove the drain plug, and let the oil drain into a pan. Replace the plug, then refill with the recommended oil type and quantity as specified in the manual.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using ethanol blends higher than 10%.
Check the battery connections and ensure they are clean and tight. Verify the fuel level and quality. Inspect the spark plug for fouling or wear and replace if necessary.
To clean the air filter, remove the cover and take out the filter. Tap it gently to remove dirt and debris. If it's too dirty, wash it with soap and water, then let it dry completely before reinstalling.
Basic maintenance should be performed every 50 hours of operation or at the start of each season, including oil changes, air filter cleaning, and checking belts and tires.
Check if the blades are sharp and balanced. Inspect for any damages or bends. Ensure that the deck is level and adjust if necessary according to the manual's instructions.
Locate the height adjustment lever, typically on the operator's side. Move the lever to the desired position, ensuring both sides are set equally for an even cut.
Excessive vibration could be due to unbalanced or damaged blades, worn out deck belts, or loose components. Inspect and correct any issues found.
Ensure the tractor is on a flat surface, then use a jack to lift the tractor. Remove the lug nuts with a wrench, replace the tire, and secure it with the lug nuts. Lower the tractor and ensure stability.
Check the coolant level and top off if necessary. Clean the radiator and remove any debris. Ensure proper airflow around the engine and inspect the fan and belts for damage.
