To change the oil, first ensure the tractor is on a level surface. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool. Remove the oil drain plug and allow old oil to drain completely. Replace the drain plug and refill with the recommended oil type and quantity.
Check the battery connections to ensure they are clean and tight. Verify that the fuel tank has sufficient fuel and that the fuel shutoff valve is open. Inspect the spark plug and replace if necessary.
Ensure the tractor is turned off and parked on a flat surface. Raise the mower deck to its highest position. Use a wrench to remove the blade bolts, replace the blades, and then tighten the bolts securely.
Refer to the owner's manual for the specific tire pressure recommendations, typically around 10-14 psi for front tires and 6-10 psi for rear tires.
Check the mower deck for levelness and adjust if necessary. Inspect the blades for sharpness and damage, replacing if needed. Ensure the tire pressure is correct and even on both sides.
It is advisable to inspect the air filter every 25 hours of operation and replace it if it appears dirty or damaged. Under dusty conditions, check more frequently.
To engage the PTO, ensure the tractor is at a complete stop. Move the throttle to a mid-to-high position, then pull the PTO switch or lever to engage the PTO.
Check the transmission fluid level and top off if necessary. Inspect the drive belt for wear or damage and replace if needed. Ensure the transmission release lever is fully engaged.
Keep the battery terminals clean and free of corrosion. Ensure the battery is securely mounted and check the electrolyte levels, topping off with distilled water if necessary. Charge the battery regularly if not in use for extended periods.
Clean the tractor thoroughly and ensure all maintenance is up to date. Add a fuel stabilizer to the tank and run the engine for a few minutes. Disconnect the battery and store it in a cool, dry place. Cover the tractor to protect it from dust and moisture.
