To perform basic maintenance, regularly check and replace the oil and oil filter, inspect the air filter, and ensure the tires are properly inflated. Clean the deck and check the blades for wear. Lubricate all moving parts as per the user manual.
First, ensure the battery is charged and the terminals are clean. Check the fuel level and verify that the fuel shut-off valve is open. Inspect the spark plug for fouling and replace if necessary. If the problem persists, check the safety switches.
Sharpen the mower blades regularly and ensure they are properly balanced. Check the tire pressure and adjust the cutting height according to the type of grass. Clean the underside of the mower deck to prevent grass buildup.
To winterize the tractor, clean the exterior, remove any grass clippings, and perform an oil and oil filter change. Add fuel stabilizer to the fuel tank, remove the battery and store it in a cool, dry place, and cover the tractor to protect it from dust and moisture.
Check the tire pressure to ensure it is consistent on all tires. Inspect the mower deck to ensure it is level. Examine the blades for damage or dullness and sharpen or replace them as necessary.
Ensure that the engine cooling fins are clean and free of debris. Check the oil level and quality, and replace if needed. Verify that the air intake and cooling system are not obstructed.
Park the tractor on a level surface and turn off the engine. Remove the oil drain plug and let the old oil drain into a container. Replace the drain plug and fill the engine with new oil as specified in the user manual. Finally, replace the oil filter if needed.
It is recommended to perform a basic service every 50 hours of operation or at the start of each season. This includes changing the oil and oil filter, inspecting the air filter, checking the spark plug, and lubricating the moving parts.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment lever near the driver's seat. Move the lever to the desired height setting, ensuring both sides are set equally for an even cut.
Check for debris lodged in the blades or under the deck. Inspect the blades for damage and ensure they are balanced and properly secured. Verify the engine mounts are tight and check tire pressure.
