To start the tractor, ensure the parking brake is engaged, the PTO switch is off, and the throttle is set to half. Insert the key and turn it to the start position until the engine fires, then release the key.
Check the battery connections for tightness and corrosion. Ensure the fuel tank has fresh fuel and the fuel shut-off valve is open. Inspect the spark plug for wear or damage, and replace if necessary.
It is recommended to change the oil after the first 5 hours of operation, then every 50 hours of use or annually, whichever comes first.
Use a high-quality SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F. For colder temperatures, a 10W-30 oil can be used. Refer to the owner's manual for specific recommendations.
Check the tire pressure to ensure it's equal on both sides. Make sure the mower deck is level and the blades are sharp. Also, inspect the blades for any damage or bending.
After each use, remove any grass clippings and debris. Use a garden hose to wash underneath the deck, ensuring the engine is off and cool. For stubborn debris, a plastic scraper can be used.
Ensure the tractor is turned off and the parking brake is engaged. Lift the mower deck to access the blades, then use a wrench to remove the blade bolts. Replace with new blades and tighten securely.
Check the transmission fluid level and top up if necessary. Inspect the drive belt for signs of wear or damage, and replace if needed. Ensure the belt tension is correct.
Consider using tire chains for added grip. Ensure the tires are properly inflated and add weights to the rear wheels if necessary to improve traction on inclines.
Clean the tractor thoroughly, change the oil, and top off the fuel tank with a stabilizer. Remove the battery and store it in a cool, dry place. Inflate the tires to the recommended pressure.
