To change the oil, ensure the tractor is on a level surface. Warm up the engine slightly, then turn it off. Place an oil pan under the drain plug, remove the plug, and allow the oil to drain. Replace the drain plug, and fill the engine with new oil as specified in the manual.
Check the battery connections for corrosion and ensure they are tight. Verify that the fuel tank has fuel and that the fuel is not old. Check the spark plug for wear and replace if necessary. Ensure the safety features, like the seat switch, are engaged properly.
Regular maintenance should be performed every 50 hours of operation or at least once a season. This includes checking and changing the oil, inspecting the air filter, and checking the belts and blades for wear.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment lever, typically on the right side of the tractor. Move the lever to the desired cutting position, ensuring it clicks into place securely.
The Simplicity Conquest Tractor is designed to run on unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol to prevent engine damage.
First, ensure the tractor is off and the spark plug is disconnected. Remove the deck and the blades using a socket wrench. Use a sharpening tool or file to sharpen the blade edges evenly. Reattach the blades and deck, ensuring everything is secure.
Excessive vibration can be caused by unbalanced or damaged blades, loose bolts, or worn bearings. Check the blades for damage, tighten all bolts, and inspect the bearings for wear, replacing parts as necessary.
To clean the air filter, locate the air filter cover and remove it. Take out the filter and gently tap it to remove debris. If it is excessively dirty, replace it with a new one. Reinstall the filter and cover securely.
To winterize, clean the tractor thoroughly, change the oil, and add a fuel stabilizer to the gas tank. Run the engine for a few minutes to circulate the stabilizer. Remove the battery and store it in a cool, dry place, and cover the tractor to protect it from the elements.
To check the spark plug, first disconnect the spark plug wire. Use a spark plug socket to remove the plug. Inspect the plug for wear or damage. If necessary, replace it with a new plug, ensuring it is properly gapped. Reattach the wire securely.
