To change the oil, first warm up the engine, then turn it off. Locate the oil drain valve, place an oil pan underneath, and open the valve. Allow the old oil to completely drain. Replace the oil filter, close the valve, and refill with new oil as specified in the owner’s manual.
Check the battery connections to ensure they are tight and free of corrosion. Verify that the fuel tank has fuel and that the fuel valve is open. Inspect the spark plug and replace if necessary. Ensure the parking brake is engaged and the transmission is in neutral.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the cutting height adjustment lever, which is usually near the operator's seat. Move the lever to the desired position, which corresponds to different cutting heights indicated on the panel.
Regularly check the battery terminals for corrosion and clean them if necessary. Ensure the battery is securely mounted and check the charge level. In cold climates, consider using a trickle charger to maintain battery life.
Ensure the mower deck is level by checking tire pressures and adjusting the deck height if needed. Inspect the blades for sharpness and replace or sharpen them if dull. Also, check for debris buildup under the deck.
Check the transmission fluid level and top it off if needed. Inspect the drive belt for wear or damage, and replace if necessary. Ensure the hydrostatic transmission release lever is in the correct position.
The air filter should be inspected every 25 operating hours and replaced at least once per season or more often in dusty conditions. Refer to the owner's manual for specific replacement intervals.
Remove the blades by securing the mower deck and using a wrench to loosen the blade bolts. Sharpen the blades using a file or bench grinder, maintaining the original angle. Balance the blades before reinstalling them to avoid vibration.
Clean the tractor thoroughly and remove any debris. Change the oil and top off the fuel tank with stabilizer. Disconnect the battery and store it in a cool, dry place. Cover the tractor to protect it from dust and moisture.
Always read the operator’s manual before use. Wear appropriate safety gear like gloves and goggles. Ensure the area is clear of people and obstacles before mowing. Never operate the tractor on steep slopes or wet grass to avoid losing control.
