To change the oil, first warm up the engine, then turn it off and remove the key. Place a pan under the oil drain valve, open the valve, and let the oil drain completely. Replace the oil filter and close the valve. Refill with the recommended oil type and quantity.
Check the battery connections for corrosion and ensure they are tight. Verify the fuel level and that the fuel valve is open. Inspect the spark plug for fouling and replace if necessary. Also, ensure the PTO switch is off and the brake pedal is fully depressed.
Ensure the mower deck is level by adjusting the deck height and side-to-side levelness. Check the blades for sharpness and damage, and replace if needed. Verify that tire pressure is equal on all tires to prevent uneven cutting.
Clean the tractor thoroughly and perform all necessary maintenance, such as oil changes and lubrication. Add a fuel stabilizer to the tank and run the engine for a few minutes. Store the tractor in a dry, covered area and disconnect the battery to prevent discharge.
Check the air filter before each use and replace it if it is dirty or damaged. Under normal conditions, the air filter should be replaced annually or after every 100 hours of operation, whichever comes first.
Check for debris blocking the air intake or radiator fins and clean them. Ensure the cooling system is filled with the appropriate coolant and that there are no leaks. Inspect the fan belt for wear and proper tension.
Safely lift the tractor and secure it. Remove the mower deck and use a wrench to unscrew the blade bolts. Replace the blades with new ones, ensuring they are installed correctly with the cutting edge facing the right direction. Tighten the bolts securely.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment lever on the tractor. Move the lever to the desired cutting height position. Make sure both sides of the deck are adjusted evenly to maintain a consistent cut.
During routine maintenance, inspect the oil level, air filter, fuel filter, spark plug, and battery connections. Check tire pressure, belts, and blades for wear and proper tension. Lubricate all moving parts as recommended in the manual.
To calibrate the PTO clutch, start by disconnecting the spark plug. Locate the clutch adjustment nuts and use a feeler gauge to adjust the gap between the clutch plate and the flywheel to the manufacturer's specification. Tighten the nuts evenly and reconnect the spark plug.
