To start the Simplicity 2690101 Conquest Tractor, ensure the parking brake is engaged, the PTO is off, and the transmission is in neutral. Turn the ignition key to the start position and release it once the engine starts.
Regular maintenance includes checking and changing the oil, replacing the oil filter, inspecting the air filter, checking tire pressure, and lubricating moving parts such as the steering and deck spindles.
If the tractor won't start, check the battery connections, ensure the fuel tank is filled, verify the spark plug is functioning, and make sure the safety switches are engaged properly.
Check the PTO switch for proper operation, ensure the drive belt is intact and properly tensioned, and inspect the PTO clutch for any signs of wear or damage.
To change the oil, run the engine for a few minutes to warm it up, then turn it off. Remove the oil drain plug and allow the oil to drain completely. Replace the plug, remove the oil filter, and install a new one. Refill with the recommended type and amount of oil.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using ethanol blends with more than 10% ethanol content.
To adjust the cutting height, use the deck lift lever located on the right side of the operator's seat. Move the lever to the desired cutting height position.
Excessive vibrations can be caused by unbalanced blades or debris lodged in the mower deck. Check and clean the mower deck, and balance or replace blades if necessary.
To replace the spark plug, disconnect the spark plug wire, remove the old spark plug using a spark plug socket, and install a new spark plug. Make sure it is properly gapped and securely tightened. Reattach the spark plug wire.
It is not recommended to use the Simplicity 2690101 Conquest Tractor in wet conditions as wet grass can cause clumping and may lead to loss of traction or control.
