To change the oil, first warm up the engine, then turn it off and remove the key. Place an oil pan under the engine, remove the drain plug, and allow the oil to drain completely. Replace the drain plug, remove the oil filter, and replace it with a new one. Finally, refill the engine with new oil as specified in your manual.
Check the battery connections to ensure they are clean and tight. Verify that the fuel tank has enough gasoline and that the fuel shut-off valve is in the open position. Inspect the spark plugs for wear or damage, and replace if necessary. Additionally, check the air filter for blockages.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment lever on the right fender. Move the lever forward or backward to select the desired cutting height. Make sure both sides are set to the same height for an even cut.
Regularly check the oil level, air filter, and tire pressure. Inspect the blades for sharpness and damage. Ensure the battery terminals are clean and tight, and lubricate moving parts as recommended in the owner's manual.
Inspect the mower deck for levelness, and adjust if necessary. Check that the blades are sharp and not bent. Ensure that the tire pressure is equal on both sides and that the deck wheels are properly adjusted.
Use tire chains or wheel weights to improve traction. Avoid sudden stops and starts on slopes, and mow up and down rather than across. Check that the tires are not overly worn and are properly inflated.
Use clean, fresh unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol, as it can damage the engine.
Clean the tractor thoroughly, and perform all necessary maintenance tasks such as oil change and blade sharpening. Add a fuel stabilizer to the tank, and run the engine briefly. Store the tractor in a dry, sheltered location, and disconnect the battery to prevent discharge.
Check for debris lodged in the blades or under the deck. Inspect the blades for balance and damage, and replace if necessary. Ensure that engine mounting bolts are tight and that the belts are in good condition.
First, disconnect the battery and remove the mower deck. Release the tension on the belt by adjusting the idler pulley. Remove the old belt and install the new one, following the routing diagram in the manual. Re-tension the belt and reattach the mower deck.
