To change the oil, first run the engine for a few minutes to warm it up. Turn off the engine and remove the key. Place a pan under the engine's drain plug, remove the plug, and allow the old oil to drain completely. Replace the drain plug and refill with the recommended oil type and amount as specified in your owner's manual.
If the tractor won't start, check the battery connections to ensure they are clean and tight. Verify the fuel level and ensure the fuel valve is open. Check the spark plug for any signs of wear or damage and replace if necessary. Additionally, ensure the PTO is disengaged and the brake is fully engaged.
Blades should be sharpened every 25 hours of use or whenever you notice a decrease in cutting performance. Always inspect blades for damage and replace if necessary. For sharpening, remove the blades and use a grinder to maintain the original angle.
The recommended tire pressure for the Broadmoor Tractor is typically 12-15 PSI for the front tires and 10-12 PSI for the rear tires. Always refer to the tire sidewall or your owner's manual for specific recommendations.
To clean the air filter, remove the filter cover and take out the air filter. If it's a foam filter, wash it with warm soapy water, rinse, and let it dry before reinstalling. For paper filters, gently tap it to remove debris or replace it if it's excessively dirty.
Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87. Avoid using E85 or other high-ethanol fuels. For optimal performance, consider using a fuel stabilizer if you plan to store the tractor for extended periods.
To adjust the mower deck, park the tractor on a flat surface and turn off the engine. Adjust the deck height levers to your desired cutting height. Use the adjustment nuts at the side of the deck to ensure it's level from side to side and front to back.
Excessive vibration can be caused by unbalanced blades, debris in the mower deck, or loose engine mounting bolts. Check and clean the mower deck, ensure blades are balanced and securely fastened, and tighten any loose bolts.
To winterize your tractor, clean the mower deck and undercarriage, change the oil, and remove the battery to store it in a cool, dry place. Add fuel stabilizer to the gas tank and run the engine for a few minutes to circulate the stabilizer. Store the tractor in a sheltered area.
Regular maintenance includes checking and changing the oil, inspecting the air filter, sharpening the blades, checking tire pressure, inspecting belts for wear, and ensuring all nuts and bolts are tight. Follow the maintenance schedule in your owner's manual for specific intervals.
