To start the Simplicity 2690008 Broadmoor Tractor, ensure the parking brake is engaged, the PTO is off, and the throttle is set to the choke position. Turn the ignition key to the start position until the engine starts, then release the key. Gradually move the throttle to the desired speed.
It is recommended to perform maintenance every 25 hours of operation or annually, whichever comes first. This includes checking the oil level, inspecting the air filter, sharpening blades, and lubricating the mower deck.
If the tractor won't start, check the battery connections, ensure the fuel valve is open, verify the PTO is off, and check for blown fuses. Additionally, inspect the spark plug for wear or damage.
Use SAE 30 oil above 40°F (4°C) and 10W-30 below 40°F (4°C). Always refer to the operator's manual for the most accurate recommendations based on your operating conditions.
To adjust the mower deck height, use the deck lift lever located on the right side of the operator's seat. Move the lever to the desired cutting height, ranging from 1 to 4 inches.
If the blades are not engaging, check the PTO switch and ensure it is in the 'On' position. Inspect the drive belts for wear or damage and check the electric clutch wiring connections.
To replace the air filter, remove the cover from the air filter housing, take out the old filter, and install a new one. Ensure the filter is seated properly before replacing the cover.
To winterize the tractor, clean the mower deck, check and change the oil, stabilize the fuel, and store the tractor in a dry location. Disconnect the battery to prevent discharge during storage.
For uneven cutting, check the tire pressure, inspect the mower blades for sharpness and damage, and ensure the mower deck is level. Adjust the deck height as necessary.
To change the spark plug, disconnect the spark plug wire, use a spark plug wrench to remove the old plug, and install a new one with the correct gap. Reattach the spark plug wire securely.
