To change the oil, warm up the engine, place a pan under the drain plug, remove the plug, and allow the oil to drain completely. Replace the drain plug and refill with new oil according to the manufacturer's specifications.
Check the battery connections and ensure they are clean and tight. Verify the fuel level and quality, inspect the spark plug, and ensure the PTO is disengaged. If the issue persists, consult the manual or a technician.
Regularly clean the deck to prevent grass buildup, check and sharpen the blades, and inspect the belts for wear. Lubricate the spindles and ensure all bolts are tight.
Refer to the tire sidewall or the owner’s manual for the recommended tire pressure. Typically, the front tires should be inflated to 12-14 psi and the rear tires to 10-12 psi.
Replace the air filter every 100 hours of operation or annually, whichever comes first. Check it more frequently if operating in dusty conditions.
Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment lever, usually on the side of the tractor. Move the lever to the desired cutting height position.
Inspect the blades for damage or imbalance, check the deck for debris, and ensure all bolts and nuts are securely fastened. Consider having the blades professionally balanced.
Clean the tractor thoroughly, change the oil, and add a fuel stabilizer. Inflate the tires to the correct pressure and store the tractor in a dry, sheltered location. Disconnect the battery if storing for an extended period.
Ensure the mower deck is level, check that the blades are sharp and undamaged, and confirm that the tires are inflated to the correct pressure. Adjust the deck height as needed.
