To start the Simplicity 1694228 Broadmoor Tractor, ensure the parking brake is engaged, the PTO switch is in the "off" position, and the throttle lever is in the "fast" position. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to start the engine.
If the engine won't start, check the battery connections for corrosion, ensure the fuel valve is open, and verify that the engine oil level is adequate. Additionally, make sure the seat switch is engaged when starting.
Oil changes should be performed every 50 hours of operation or annually, whichever comes first. Use SAE 30 or 10W-30 oil for best performance.
To adjust the cutting height, stop the tractor, disengage the PTO, and adjust the cutting height lever to the desired position. Make sure the deck is level for an even cut.
Check if the deck is level side-to-side and front-to-back. Inspect the blades for damage or dullness and ensure tire pressures are equal. Adjust as necessary.
Inspect the air filter every 25 hours of operation. Clean or replace it if it appears dirty or clogged to ensure optimal engine performance.
To engage the PTO, move the throttle to the "fast" position and pull the PTO switch upward. Ensure the area is clear of bystanders and debris before engaging.
Inspect the steering linkage for wear or damage, and tighten any loose components. Regularly lubricate steering joints to ensure smooth operation.
Disconnect the battery cables and store the battery in a cool, dry place. Use a battery maintainer to keep it charged during long storage periods.
To winterize, clean the tractor thoroughly, change the oil, stabilize the fuel, and disconnect the battery. Store the tractor in a dry, covered location.
