To change the oil, first ensure the tractor is on a level surface. Warm up the engine slightly to make the oil flow better. Turn off the engine and remove the oil drain plug to drain the old oil into a pan. Replace the drain plug and refill with new oil as per the specifications in the manual.
Check the battery connections for corrosion and ensure they are tight. Verify that the fuel tank has fuel and that the fuel valve is open. Inspect the spark plug for wear and replace if necessary. Additionally, make sure the PTO switch is in the off position and the brake is fully engaged.
First, disconnect the spark plug and remove the mower deck. Use a wrench to remove the blade bolt and detach the blade. Sharpen the blade with a file or sharpening stone, maintaining the original angle. Reinstall the blade securely and reattach the mower deck.
It is recommended to use clean, fresh unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol content.
The air filter should be checked every 25 hours of operation and replaced every 100 hours or annually, whichever comes first. If operating in dusty conditions, check and replace the air filter more frequently.
Before winter storage, clean the tractor thoroughly and remove any debris. Stabilize the fuel with a fuel stabilizer and run the engine for a few minutes. Change the oil and filter, and remove the battery to store it in a cool, dry place. Inflate the tires to the proper pressure and cover the tractor to protect it from dust and moisture.
To adjust the mower deck height, park the tractor on a level surface and disengage the PTO. Use the height adjustment lever to set the desired cutting height. Check the deck level by measuring from the ground to the blade tip on both sides, adjusting if necessary to ensure even cutting.
Uneven cutting may be caused by an unlevel mower deck, worn or damaged blades, incorrect tire pressure, or inappropriate ground speed. Check and adjust the deck level, inspect and sharpen or replace blades, verify tire pressure, and adjust speed as needed.
A vibrating steering wheel may be caused by an unbalanced or damaged mower blade, loose components, or tire issues. Inspect the blades for damage, ensure all hardware is tight, and check tires for proper inflation and balance.
Regularly clean the battery terminals and apply a terminal protector to prevent corrosion. Check the electrolyte level if applicable and ensure it is properly charged. Store the battery in a cool, dry place if not in use for extended periods.
