To change the oil, first run the engine for a few minutes to warm it up. Turn off the engine and remove the ignition key. Place an oil drain pan under the drain plug, then remove the plug to drain the oil. Replace the drain plug and refill with the recommended oil type and quantity.
Check the battery for charge and clean terminals if necessary. Ensure the fuel valve is open and check the fuel level. Inspect the spark plug for wear or damage, and replace if needed. Verify the PTO switch is off and the parking brake is engaged.
Ensure the blades are sharp and balanced. Regularly clean the deck to prevent grass build-up. Adjust the cutting height according to the grass type and condition. Make sure the tires are properly inflated for even cutting.
Perform an oil change every 50 hours of operation. Clean or replace the air filter every 25 hours. Sharpen or replace blades as needed. Check tire pressure monthly and examine belts and pulleys for wear regularly.
Park the tractor on a flat surface and measure the height from the ground to the blade tips on each side. Adjust the deck leveling links until both sides are equal. Ensure the deck is level front to back as well.
Check the transmission fluid level and ensure it is at the correct level. Inspect the drive belt for wear or damage and replace if necessary. Examine the linkage for obstructions or misalignment.
Turn off the fuel valve and remove the carburetor bowl. Clean all parts with carburetor cleaner, paying special attention to jets and passages. Reassemble the carburetor and ensure all gaskets are intact.
Check for debris blocking the air intake or cooling fins. Ensure the engine oil is at the correct level and replace it if necessary. Inspect the cooling fan and replace if damaged. Regularly clean the engine compartment.
Use clean, fresh, unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of at least 87. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol content to prevent damage to the engine components.
Clean the tractor thoroughly and remove any debris. Change the oil and oil filter, and fill the fuel tank with fresh fuel and stabilizer. Remove the battery and store it in a cool, dry place. Cover the tractor to protect it from dust and moisture.
