To start the Broadmoor Tractor, ensure the parking brake is engaged, the PTO switch is off, and the throttle is set to choke. Insert the key and turn it to the start position until the engine fires. Release the key once the engine starts.
Check the fuel level, ensure the battery is charged, and verify that the spark plug is clean. Also, make sure the parking brake is engaged and the PTO switch is off. If the problem persists, consult the user manual or a professional technician.
To change the oil, run the engine for a few minutes, then turn it off. Place an oil pan under the drain valve, open the valve, and let the oil drain completely. Replace the oil filter and close the drain valve. Refill with the recommended oil type and check the level with the dipstick.
The air filter should be checked every 25 hours of operation and replaced if it's dirty or damaged. Under dusty conditions, more frequent checks and replacements may be necessary.
Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87. Avoid using ethanol blends higher than 10% as they may damage the engine.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment lever on the side of the tractor. Move the lever to the desired cutting height position, ranging from 1.5 to 4 inches. Ensure the tractor is parked on a flat surface before making adjustments.
Excessive vibration may be caused by an unbalanced blade or debris caught in the deck. Check the mower blades for damage or imbalance and clean the mower deck. If the issue persists, consult with a maintenance professional.
Before storing, ensure the battery is fully charged. Disconnect the battery cables, starting with the negative terminal. Store the battery in a cool, dry place. Consider using a battery maintainer to keep it charged during prolonged storage.
Regular maintenance includes checking and changing the oil, inspecting and cleaning the air filter, sharpening or replacing mower blades, checking tire pressure, and ensuring all nuts and bolts are tightened. Follow the maintenance schedule in the operator’s manual for best results.
Uneven cutting can be due to dull blades, incorrect tire pressure, or a misaligned deck. Ensure the blades are sharp, the tire pressure is uniform, and the deck is level. Adjust the deck height if necessary and check for any obstructions in the discharge chute.
