To start the tractor, ensure the parking brake is engaged, the PTO switch is off, and the transmission is in neutral. Turn the ignition key to the start position until the engine starts, then release.
It is recommended to use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F and 10W-30 for temperatures below 32°F. Ensure you check the oil level regularly.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, and then every 50 hours of operation or at the start of each season.
Check the battery connections, ensure the fuel valve is open, confirm the PTO is disengaged, and check for proper spark plug function.
Check the tire pressure to ensure all tires are equally inflated, and level the mower deck if necessary. Inspect the blades for sharpness and replace them if needed.
Remove any grass buildup by safely lifting the mower and using a scraper or hose. Ensure the mower is off and the spark plug is disconnected before cleaning.
Regularly check the battery terminals for corrosion and clean them as needed. Ensure the battery is charged and stored in a cool, dry place during the off-season.
Routinely sharpen or replace the blades as needed and check for balance. Balanced blades reduce vibration and wear on the mower deck.
Drain the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer, remove the battery, and store it indoors. Clean the tractor thoroughly and cover it to protect from dust and moisture.
Consider using tire chains and adding wheel weights for better traction. Adjust the tire pressure according to the manual for optimal performance.
