Ensure the tractor is on a flat surface, engage the parking brake, set the throttle lever to the 'Fast' position, and turn the ignition key to start the engine.
Regular maintenance includes checking and changing the oil, inspecting and replacing the air filter, checking tire pressure, and lubricating moving parts as needed.
Check the battery connections, ensure the fuel is fresh, inspect the spark plug for wear or damage, and make sure the safety switches are engaged properly.
Check the PTO (Power Take-Off) switch, inspect the deck belt for wear or damage, and ensure the deck is properly attached and not obstructed.
Warm up the engine, turn it off, and place a pan under the drain plug. Remove the plug and let the oil drain completely. Replace the plug, add new oil, and dispose of the old oil properly.
Refer to the owner's manual for the recommended tire pressure, typically around 10-14 psi for the front tires and 12-16 psi for the rear tires.
Ensure the blades are sharp and balanced, mow when the grass is dry, and adjust the cutting height according to your lawn's needs.
Clean the tractor thoroughly, change the oil, add fuel stabilizer, remove the battery, and store the tractor in a dry, covered area.
Locate the air filter cover, remove it, take out the old filter, and insert a new one. Make sure the filter is seated properly before replacing the cover.
Check for loose or damaged blades, ensure the mower deck is balanced, and inspect the engine mounts and pulleys for wear or damage.
