Ensure the tractor is in neutral, sit on the seat, fully depress the brake pedal, and turn the ignition key to the start position. Release the key once the engine starts.
Check the battery connections, ensure there is fuel in the tank, inspect the spark plug, and make sure the PTO is disengaged. If the issue persists, consult the manual or a professional technician.
Warm up the engine, turn it off, and remove the drain plug to drain the old oil. Replace the drain plug, remove the oil filter, and install a new one. Refill with the recommended oil type and quantity.
Regular maintenance includes checking and changing the oil, inspecting the air filter, checking tire pressure, lubricating moving parts, and inspecting belts and blades.
Check if the mower deck is level, inspect the blades for sharpness and damage, ensure the tire pressure is even, and verify that the deck wheels are properly adjusted.
Inspect the blades for balance, check for debris in the mower deck, inspect the engine mounts, and ensure the belts are not worn or damaged.
Park the tractor on a flat surface, disengage the PTO, remove the mower deck, and use a wrench to remove the blade bolts. Replace with new blades and secure them tightly.
Keep the battery terminals clean and tight, store the tractor in a cool and dry place, avoid deep discharges by regularly charging the battery, and check the electrolyte level if applicable.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using ethanol blends higher than 10% to prevent engine damage.
Clean the tractor thoroughly, change the oil and filter, add a fuel stabilizer, disconnect the battery, and store the tractor in a dry and sheltered location. Cover it to protect from dust and dirt.
