Use SAE 30 oil for the engine in temperatures above 32°F. For temperatures below 32°F, use SAE 5W-30 to ensure proper lubrication in colder conditions. Always check the owner's manual for specific recommendations.
If the engine won't start, check the battery connections for corrosion or looseness. Ensure the fuel tank has fresh gasoline and the fuel valve is open. Examine the spark plug for wear or damage and replace if necessary.
To change the mower deck belt, first, disengage the PTO and lower the deck. Remove the belt guards, then slide the belt off the pulleys. Install the new belt following the belt routing diagram, and reattach the belt guards.
Regularly check the battery terminals for corrosion and clean them with a baking soda solution if necessary. Ensure the battery is securely mounted and check the water level, adding distilled water if needed. Charge the battery before storage.
To winterize your tractor, clean the mower deck and tractor body, change the oil, and add fuel stabilizer to the tank. Remove the battery and store it in a cool, dry place. Cover the tractor to protect it from the elements.
To replace the air filter, locate the air filter cover and remove it. Take out the old filter and clean the housing. Insert the new filter and secure the cover back in place. Ensure the filter is seated properly to prevent debris intake.
Excessive vibration may be caused by an unbalanced blade or debris lodged in the mower deck. Check for and remove any debris. Inspect the blades for damage or imbalance and replace or sharpen if needed.
Sharpen the mower blades at least once per mowing season or after 20-25 hours of use. Regularly inspect the blades for nicks or dullness and sharpen as needed to ensure a clean cut and prevent damage to the grass.
Maintain the front tires at 14 psi and the rear tires at 10 psi. Regularly check the tire pressure to ensure proper traction and even cutting, adjusting as necessary based on load and terrain.
