To change the oil, first warm up the engine, then turn it off. Locate the oil drain valve underneath the tractor, attach a drain tube, and open the valve to drain old oil. Replace the oil filter and add new oil through the oil fill cap. Ensure the oil level is correct using the dipstick.
First, check the battery connections for corrosion or looseness. Ensure the fuel tank has gasoline and the fuel valve is open. Verify that the parking brake is set and the PTO is disengaged. If the issue persists, inspect the spark plug and replace if necessary.
Park the tractor on a flat surface. Measure the height from the ground to the blade tip on both sides to ensure they are equal. Use the mower deck leveling adjustment nuts to achieve the correct height and level. Adjust the anti-scalp wheels to the appropriate height for your lawn.
Regularly check the air filter for dirt and debris. Clean the air filter by tapping it gently to remove loose dirt. If the filter is excessively dirty or damaged, replace it with a new one to ensure proper engine performance.
Ensure the tire pressure is equal on all tires. Check the mowing deck for levelness and adjust if necessary. Inspect the blades for sharpness and replace or sharpen them if they are dull. Remove any debris caught in the deck that might affect cutting performance.
Clean the tractor thoroughly and remove any grass or debris. Add a fuel stabilizer to the tank and run the engine for a few minutes. Change the oil and replace the oil filter. Charge and disconnect the battery, then store it in a cool, dry place. Cover the tractor to protect it from the elements.
For better traction, consider using tire chains or adding wheel weights. Always mow up and down slopes, not across them, to reduce the risk of tipping. Ensure the tires have adequate tread and adjust tire pressure if needed.
Check the belt for wear or damage and replace if needed. Ensure that the belt tension is correct and the pulleys are aligned properly. Inspect the belt guides and adjust them to prevent the belt from slipping off the pulleys.
Locate the fuse box near the steering column. Open the cover and identify the blown fuse by the broken filament. Replace it with a fuse of the same amperage rating. Ensure all electrical connections are secure before replacing the cover.
Regularly check and change the oil, replace the air filter and spark plugs, inspect and sharpen the blades, and lubricate moving parts. Keep the tires properly inflated and inspect belts and hoses for wear. Clean the tractor after each use to prevent buildup of grass and debris.
